Assurant Solutions, a business segment of Assurant, Inc. (NYSE: AIZ), today announces the extension of its Same Day Delivery service to the UK banking sector. The service enables the same day replacement of handsets for eligible loss or theft claims to all postcodes throughout the UK, allowing UK bank packaged account customers to be reconnected in hours rather than days.

Same Day Delivery is the first mobile insurance programme of its kind in the UK banking sector. Assurant Solutions conducted nationwide trials to test and prove the effectiveness of the service. As people are becoming increasingly dependent on smartphones to manage their lives, from managing emails through to controlling connected devices at home, this extended service offers peace of mind that they will be quickly reconnected with their online world.

A customer’s insurance claim will be assessed in real time and if eligible, the replacement handset and SIM card can be delivered the same day. To be eligible for the Same Day Delivery service the customer will need to make a claim for loss or theft of a handset, be available to receive a delivery up to 7pm on the same day and be able to pay any excess over the phone should the claim be accepted.
There are no postcode restrictions on this service, although cut off times for same day delivery vary dependent on postcode.
The service is currently available in the UK; however Assurant Solutions has the capability to offer Same Day Service to banking clients throughout Europe
