There’s now less than a week to go until Europe’s biggest technology conference, Mobile World Congress. As mobile innovation is an area of great interest to us at Assurant we’re getting really excited about some of the world’s biggest companies getting together to showcase their latest smartphones, tablets and wearable tech.
Big name brands are expected to unveil their new devices this year. There are even rumours that Sony are planning to reveal five new smartphones, including a new flagship optimised for virtual reality while Samsung are widely expected to unveil its latest iPad rival, the Galaxy Tab S3.
MWC is about much more than just mobile phones. Companies will be there to showcase innovations in areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality and augmented reality. At Assurant we ensure we keep up to date with emerging devices and technology to deeper our consumer insights to deliver a better customer experience.
The congress is famous for its keynote speeches and over the years has hosted inspirational leaders from some of world’s biggest companies such as Mark Zuckerberg. This year we’re anticipating some thought provoking speeches from Nokia, Netflix and Niantic – the founder of Pokemon Go, arguably the most immersive mobile game ever.
2017 will see even more great additions to the conference…
NEXtech will focus on next generation technology, an area dedicated to the most forward thinking, innovative companies currently disrupting the mobile ecosystem. The hall will add an incredible new destination to the show, featuring areas dedicated to specific technologies and platforms.
The GSMA will unveil an important programme at MWC designed to elevate the voice of women in the mobile industry. Women4Tech provides a global platform to focus specifically on increasing the inclusion of women in the mobile industry and showcasing best practices for female leadership.
On the lookout for innovators of the future…
The Youth Mobile Festival (YoMo) will welcome up to 20,000 school children from across Catalonia and Spain to one huge showcase of science and technology. This fun, free, and educational event will help them learn more about careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Design/Art and Math.
The Mobile Explorers Club will bring a unique MWC experience to children of registered attendees. Children can learn new skills and discover the world of science and technology through a hands-on interactive educational programme in a friendly and safe environment.
